The Food Pantry Program, a collaborative effort between Rouha Welfare Trust and Zafar Mir Foundation, was launched as a response to the growing food insecurity in Burewala and the surrounding areas. It aimed to provide monthly food supplies to the most vulnerable and deserving families ensuring that they have access to
nutritious food items on a regular basis.

Commencing in September 2021 with an initial outreach to 45 families, this program has steadily extended its scope. As of June 2024, it consistently caters to the needs of 100 deserving families, (382 individuals) on a monthly basis.

This food package is designed to meet the best dietary needs of a family for a whole month. The package includes essential items such as rice, lentils, pulses, cooking oil, flour, sugar, and other spices, etc.

Each package costs around PKR 8,000 (US $30).
